More About Peacockes Hotel
Below are a listing of some of the unique features of Peacockes Hotel that you are certainly guaranteed not to find at any other Irish hotel.
Replica Quiet Man Cottage
The famous Quiet Man Bridge is located just before the town of Oughterard, (less the 10 minutes from Peacockes). The still-intact bridge was where Wayne's character sat and heard about the White O'Moran Cottage. In the film the cottage has been neglected, and Quiet Man fans have removed stones as memories. However, there is a replica of the cottage right beside Peacockes Hotel.
Siopa Beag
Located next to Peacockes Hotel, our filling station is available for 24 Hour Diesel & Marked Gas Oil as well as Petrol being sold during regular opening hours. In addition to fuel services our Siopa Beag also offers a Convenience Store and stocks all the daily essentials.
Viewing Tower
While visiting Peacockes, a trip to the top of the viewing tower is a must-see.
Completely free, all you need is enough wind to climb all 94 steps!
At the end of your climb, you'll be rewarded with a panormic view of Connemara.
Who knows, you might even find inspiration for further travels...
